OPS has had tremendous success applying Lean to hospital Sterile Processing Department (SPD) operations.  SPD is often an afterthought in overall hospital operations, however it can have a large impact on overall patient quality and satisfaction resulting from a procedure in an Operating Room (OR).  The attached White Paper discusses how Lean principles and concepts have dramatically inproved the quality, safety, efficiency, cost and employee morale for the SPD and associated departments.
